1. Who we are
The data controller is JBCM Events LLC, a company incorporated in the United Arab Emirates ("we", "us", "our"). We operate the website moc-festival.com and the MOC26 festival.
2. Personal data we collect
- Identification data: full name, company, job title.
- Contact data: email address, phone number.
- Enquiry data: the audience you selected (visitor, exhibitor, sponsor, vendor, media, volunteer, activity provider) and the content of your message.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited, collected for security and analytics.
3. How we use your personal data
- To respond to enquiries you submit through our forms.
- To send you information about MOC26 — schedule updates, exhibitor briefings, sponsor updates and event news — where you have given consent or where it is necessary to deliver a service you requested.
- To organise accreditation, vendor and exhibitor logistics.
- To comply with our legal obligations under UAE law, including health, safety and regulatory requirements.
- To protect our website and prevent fraud or abuse.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process personal data on one or more of the following bases recognised by the PDPL: your consent; the performance of a contract to which you are a party; compliance with a legal obligation; or our legitimate interest in operating and promoting the festival, where that interest is not overridden by your rights.
5. Sharing your personal data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf (for example our email delivery provider, hosting provider and analytics provider), under written agreements that require them to protect your data.
- Festival partners, sponsors or venue operators where strictly necessary to deliver an activity or accreditation you registered for.
- UAE regulators, law enforcement or other authorities where we are legally required to do so.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers are located outside the UAE. Where we transfer personal data outside the UAE, we do so only to jurisdictions that the UAE Data Office considers to provide an adequate level of protection, or under appropriate safeguards as permitted by Article 22 of the PDPL.
7. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out above. Enquiry records are typically retained for up to 24 months after the festival ends, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Marketing contacts are retained until you unsubscribe.
8. Your rights under the PDPL
Subject to the conditions set out in the PDPL, you have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request erasure of your data.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
- Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office if you believe your rights have been breached.
